Who holds your data

The short version

We collect what we need to teach you a language and to charge you for it. We do not sell your data, and we do not use what you read or write to train AI models.

What we hold

Your email address and password, kept by our authentication provider — we never see the password itself. The languages you are learning and your level. The subjects you told us you care about. The books and articles you import, the words you save, what you write, and your reading and review history. If you turn on text reminders, your phone number.

Payment card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. We keep only your Stripe customer reference and the state of your subscription.

Why we hold it

To show you your library and your progress, to generate lessons and stories pitched at your level and your interests, to send the reminders you asked for, and to take payment. That is the whole list.

Who else sees it

Supabase stores the database. Stripe handles payment. Text you read, write or ask about is sent to an AI provider to generate the reply, and to a speech provider when you press play on a sentence. Resend sends email and Twilio sends text messages, if you turn those on. Cloudflare serves the site.

Each of these sees only what it needs to do its job. None of them is permitted to sell your data or to use it to train models on your behalf.

Where your data goes

We are based in the United States, so your data is processed there. Two transfers are worth naming plainly rather than leaving in a list.

Text you read, write or ask about is sent to DeepSeek to generate translations, explanations, corrections and stories. DeepSeek processes that text on servers in China. That means the sentences you import and the writing you submit leave the United States and the European Economic Area. If that is not acceptable to you, do not use the AI features — reading, saved words and review all work without them.

Payment data is processed by Stripe in the United States and Ireland. Database storage is Supabase; hosting is Cloudflare.

Reminders

Email and text reminders are off until you turn them on, and can be turned off in Settings at any time. If you give us a phone number for text reminders, we use it for that and nothing else. Message rates from your carrier may apply.

How long we keep it

While your account exists. Delete your account and we remove your library, saved words, writing and history. We keep the minimum record of payments that tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at support@mondozza.com and we will act within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

If you live in California

You may ask what personal information we collected about you, ask us to delete it, and ask us to correct it. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. Exercising any of these rights will never get you worse service or a worse price.

Cookies

We use what is needed to keep you signed in and to remember whether you chose the light or dark theme. There is no advertising or third-party tracking on this site.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
